The winter tour is now complete and was very successful indeed. A highlight for me was to appear double billed with Climax Blues Band's guitar star Pete Haycock and his new band True Blues at the Mühle Hunziken, a blues club, in Switzerland. Last time I saw Pete it was in the mid 1980s on a tour called Night of Guitars (included Steve Howe, Alvin Lee, Randy California, Leslie West, Robbie Kriger et al). I never imagined that we would share supper back stage inbetween sets of music. I liked his band. Back to classic blues standards from Muddy Waters to JJ Cale. Call Me The Breeze sounded best to my ears.

Music workshops have figured in my schedule on this tour. A series of workshops entitled Where The Blues Meets Hip Hop were presented at two of the Dutch popoddia: De Kade and Het Podium.

I had an amazing time in Andalucía in June. I attended a guitar masterclass and retreat with Mike Walker. Really good fun and so relaxing! Wake up and play guitar. Panoramic views in the mountains. Flamenco territory!

I toured the Netherlands in April and May. I sang and played solo guitar on a tour called Solo Strings. I played music from my forthcoming CD of original compositions.

The new CD is being recorded at long last. It promises to be an eclectic mix of crossover tunes played solo and with a band - line-up is to be announced later! Release of CD plannned for late 2009.
