After graduation Ty visited a friend who played in the Monte Carlo Big Band in Monaco. It was this experience that led him to a chance meeting with John McLaughlin www.johnmclaughlin.com prompting Ty to focus wholeheartedly on the European continent where he has spent subsequent years developing a reputation amongst the jazz and blues fraternity in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Luxembourg and Switzerland. ![]() Ty's "guitar based blues roots" are steeped in the oral tradition of the Mississippi Delta country blues singers Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker. Ty's "jazz edge" derives from Texan guitar genius T-Bone Walker and Memphis guitar star and bandleader BB King www.bbking.com. In addition to this blues and jazz synthesis, Ty's "psychedelic" influence comes from the transatlantic generation of guitar players Mike Bloomfield, Carlos Santana www.santana.com, Jimi Hendrix and Peter Green:
